Margharet Hollander is the founder and owner of the Optical Shop of Westport. She opened the store in 1994 and has built a successful business serving her clients' needs from that same location. Margharet is a "people person" who strives and succeeds in making it easy for her customers to buy what they want and need in a hassle-free and friendly environment. Her sense of style is well represented in the elegantly appointed shop and its selection of high fashion eyewear and complimentary accessories. Margharet is a licensed optician and the daughter of an ophthalmologist. She has been involved with eye care and eyewear since she was 10 years old.
Joseph "Joe" Bouchard is the store manager and an optician, licensed since 1979. He has been with OSW for 11 years. Joe practices his profession for himself as well as the OSW clientele. An experienced runner, Joe uses lightweight, prescription, polarized running glasses. These glasses use transition lenses that lighten or darken as the sun light varies. He says, "I can run for over 3 hours and feel like I'm not wearing anything." He uses separate non-polarized glasses for under his motorcycle helmet, since the helmet's shield is polarized. He also has separate glasses for gardening and, of course, another pair for dress occasions. Joe says, "People have different needs for different activities. It is important to see well for all of them." We agree!
