New Eyes for the Needy

Optical Shop of Westport conducts eyeglass drives year round. We donate eyeglasses we collect to New Eyes for the Needy, a not-for-profit organization that distributes eyeglasses free of charge to hospitals, clinics, and medical missions throughout the world. New Eyes for the Needy analyzes the prescriptions, labels them and then sends them all over the world through medical missions to fill optical prescriptions.
In over 60 years New Eyes for the Needy has distributed over 4 million pairs of eyeglasses.

“It is an easy and worthwhile effort. I’ve gone on optical missions and have been lucky enough to witness the smiles on peoples’ faces when they see for the first time through their new donated eyeglasses.”
— Optical Shop of Westport Owner, Margharet Hollander

If you have eyeglasses that are just gathering dust,
